A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Hi,

I'm a journalist with Sky News looking into this issue. I'm interested in speaking to anyone who's experienced transaction miscoding after trying to self-exclude via their bank, especially anyone in the UK.

Guys does anyone know what I do if a casino won’t send me information when I’ve requested my information due to GDPR ? Is there anyone I can complain to ? Curaco casino ?

well, I submitted a chargeback today, I said everything to my Revlout bank that's it's a casino and they won't refund me, at first they cancelled it, then I had an idea to do it again this time without Crypto transactions, imagine in 1 hours it went to to the merchant and was accepted. i think banks do not touch of dare to rise transactions mixed with crypto

hi, your bank didn't want to see any evidence that the casino refused a refund or the dealer. Or evidence of contact? greetings

Hi Ben,

You’re absolutely right – this issue needs much more attention. From what I’ve seen, this appears to be part of a much larger fraud network. These dodgy casinos are nothing short of scam sites. There’s absolutely nothing legitimate about them. They are designed specifically to trick people into depositing money with the promise of ridiculous bonuses, but when it comes time to withdraw those winnings, they either block the withdrawal requests or make the process so complicated and frustrating that it’s nearly impossible to get your money back.

What makes it even worse is that these casinos often bypass gambling blocks and laws in the UK by using sketchy merchant accounts, making it difficult for authorities to take action. But just because they operate under the radar doesn’t mean they should be allowed to get away with it. That’s why it’s crucial for all of us to take action and make sure they don’t continue their scams unchecked.

The victims are then forced to act quickly in what is a timely and exhausting process, due to the extensive nature of these scams. Whether it's requesting chargebacks through the bank, escalating the issue with the financial institution, or even reporting them to the authorities, the goal is to hit them where it hurts – their finances and ability to keep scamming people. The more people who report these sites, the harder it becomes for them to operate. These so-called "casinos" are part of a much bigger fraud ring, and it’s up to us to ensure that they’re exposed and stopped.

So what did you say the transactions were for instead of gambling?

I came honest with my bank and highlighted the transactions are from an illegal casino which used Wrong Mcc to bypass your banking security and make them look like goods and services bought, the bank will not tolerate this, they quickly raised it until category scam chargeback. because there was a breach in the bank security so the bank will be happy to raise that chargeback

When using Mastercard for gambling transactions, some banks tend to immediately shut things down once they hear gambling. They seem to avoid dealing with it altogether, making it hard to resolve the issue. Because of this, people often have no choice but to go down the 'goods/services not received' route, which is technically true, especially if the gambling site is operating unlawfully or unethically in some way. It’s frustrating that this workaround is necessary, but it's unfortunately the only way to deal with these situations since banks often won’t entertain gambling-related claims even if the MCC is wrong. Visa is different on the other hand and has more success regarding MCC.

I beg to differ as all of my chargebacks were with Mastercard with no hassle at all.
