The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has announced that the European Safer Gambling Week will be returning with the dates already booked for November 17-23, 2025.
The seminal event is a dedicated push to raise awareness about safer gambling across Europe and foster a stronger culture of player protection. The event draws on the collaborative efforts of multiple stakeholders across dozens of jurisdictions in the region that regulate their gambling markets.
Thanks to European Safer Gambling Week, operators, regulators, support organizations, various experts, and tech providers can come together and put their efforts towards addressing problem gambling in the region.
The event is looking to build on its last year’s milestone, with the fifth edition seeking to improve on the 195 partners, 26 countries, and 3.1m social media users reached with safer gambling messages. In 2024, the campaign ended, hosting 20 events which were attended by more than 3,000 people.
Commenting on the opportunity to welcome the fifth edition of European Safer GamblingWeek, EGBA Secretary-General MaartenHaijer had this to say:
"We're pleased to announce the dates for European Safer Gambling Week 2025 and are excited to build on the exceptional momentum of last year's campaign."
Haijer has praised the collaborative efforts and highlighted the number of partners, participants, as well as target jurisdictions that have committed to making gambling safer and promoting player protection.
"Safe and sustainable gambling is a shared commitment, and we invite organisations across the industry to join us for this year’s edition and help us foster a strong culture of safe and sustainable gambling in Europe," he wrapped up.
In 2025, European Safer Gambling Week will spearhead different social media campaigns as well as introduce more workshops with real-world impact.
