  • Drake shares a post that might suggest his actual gambling losses
  • The stats shared by the rapper suggest he may have lost up to $20m on gambling
  • Drake has been a passionate gambler who has been staking a lot of money

Drake got into a heated rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, which did nothing to help his ego, nor did his recent revelations about the size of his true gambling losses, which have proven to be quite significant, the artist said in not-so-many-words.

Drake may have lost as much as $20m on gambling

In fact, Drake may have lost about $20m to gambling, fueling more Internet humor surrounding the "Drake curse," the superstition that if Drake wagers on something, it’s a sure loser.

The notion has been just that – a superstition, but some UFC fighters who have been on the receiving end of the "curse" did say after they lost that, because Drake had put so much pressure on them, they felt a little out of focus.

The revelation came through an Instagram story, with Drake not specifically confirming the actual size of his gambling losses, even though he had, just months ago, spoken about how he had won $40m. Drake decided to just go ahead and share his account history, which showed him betting as much as $125m a month, with his total losses amounting to $20m.

Drake said that he wanted to talk about "the other side" of gambling and show how overspending on the activity could actually cost people significant money.

"Losses are so fried right now, I hope I can post a big win for you all soon, cause I’m the only one that has never seen a max these guys max once a week," the rapper added, reflecting on his account balance.

Of course, the revelation prompted an inundation of messages, with some piling onto the Drake curse angle, while others raised concerns over Drake’s behavior and questioned his relationship with gambling, and whether he was a gambling addict who needed help.

Honestly, no way of actually knowing

Drake has spent the majority of his time gambling at Stake, a global gambling behemoth.

Naturally, some users have been skeptical about the amounts Drake has been gambling, too, arguing that it was most likely casino credits that were given to the rapper by the casino. Drake has denied those rumors, or at least not paid much attention to them in the first place.

As to his own gambling ability, Drake previously reflected that he was not actually a great gambler, and he did it for the fun and thrill he got, but hardly expected to win. He also cautioned people who were following his betting patterns to be clever about their own finances.
