Brian Christopher, the man behind the eponymous Brian Christopher Slots, and a number of other YouTube channels, spoke up at the recent Canadian Gaming Summit, sharing his two cents on influencers in the gambling space as well as slots gameplay.
After all, he should know – he has helped create several games with Gaming Arts, and he has teamed up with various gambling companies, including MGM Resorts International, and others.
Brian Christopher’s appeal has been his pure joy for slot gameplay, and the fact that he has bankrolled his gameplay out of pocket, creating a genuine and relatable experience.
Speaking at the recent industry gathering, the man behind BCSlots2, BCSweeps, FlipTheSwitch, BCSlots, and others, all operating under the BC Ventures company, said that a great game should have some sort of pay-off.
Essentially, you want to be having fun, Christopher explained, arguing that once a slot gameplay stops being fun, he stops playing as well. He also spoke about the hardships of becoming a slot influencer, and although he did not mention the gutting YouTube ban, which almost sent his business into a sinkhole, he acknowledged the early-day hardships.
For example, Brian Christopher, whose online empire spawns millions of subscribers and monthly views, said that he had a difficult time lifting the whole thing off the ground. For starters, he had only 14 subscribers. But there was a clear strategy as to what he wanted to achieve.
Brian Christopher said that from the early days, he wanted to connect with his audiences and show them that there was a real person having fun on camera. Many channels out there, he argued, made the mistake of not really trying to connect with their audiences – after all, he mused, nobody comes to YouTube to just watch a video.
Rather, people want to see who the person behind the camera is, and this is what Brian Christopher started to deliver early on. His company, BC Ventures, has now grown to a company that employs dozens of people, and the man himself is traveling all over the world to show on-site gameplay, connect with fans, and even open branded loungers or introduce dedicated cabinets!
