BetBlocker continues to expand and grow its footprint of self-exclusion solutions, with the company choosing the upcoming ICE Barcelona as the launch date for its Catalan-language version of the tool.
The company has specialized in the development of a universal self-exclusion tool that has been targeted towards localized communities in multiple markets, including Eastern Europeans in the United Kingdom.
BetBlocker has emphasized the need to present people with self-exclusion tools that are not exclusively available for English speakers and has spearheaded an effort to make sure that responsible play is available in as many languages in the world as possible.
The upcoming event offers an outstanding opportunity for players to access a tool that is available in their native tongue, incentivizing them to tap into it and use it to protect themselves from excessive gambling.
Commenting on the opportunity, Chie of SG Partnerships at BetBlocker Pedro Romero had this to say:
"We were fortunate to work closely with Dr. Laura Maldonado, a Catalan gambling and gaming expert, who helped ensure that the translation and adaptation went beyond language. Her insights were crucial in tailoring the tool to reflect local values, idiomatic expressions, and cultural nuances."
Romero argued that the localized version isn’t just a translation, but it has been created to address the specific needs of Catalonia’s population in mind.
This has been a guiding principle for BetBlocker’s previous language releases that have sought to not only offer a translation, but tailor the gambling-blocking solution in such a way as to elicit the best results.
The date of BetBlocker's latest version has also not been picked by chance, Romero explained:
"Given that ICE is hosted in Barcelona from this year, we felt it was a meaningful way to acknowledge the cultural richness of Catalonia and support the local community with a fully accessible version of BetBlocker in their native language."
BetBlocker will seek to ensure that the tool becomes widely available to anyone in Catalonia and any Catalan speaker who may be suffering from gambling-related harm. ICE Barcelona is a chance to amplify the message and ensure that everyone who may need to tap into the Catalan version of BetBlocker will find out about it.
"This launch is just the beginning—we’re eager to see how we can work together to support local communities further," Romero concluded. Clarion Gaming has previously named BetBlocker its charity partner for ICE, iGBA, and iGB L!VE.
