Casino Guru News has caught up with Relax Gaming Game Product Owners Andy Payne and Gabriel Pisani, to talk about the arrival of Immortal 5, one of the longest-standing and most successful superhero-inspired slot games by the studio. Q: Superhero stories have captivated audiences for decades. Can you start by telling us about the inspiration behind Immortal 5? What makes this superhero crew unique?

Gabriel Pisani: Once we decided on a superhero theme for the project, we needed to allocate the powers that each character would possess. This was a collaborative effort between the Product Owners and our Malm? studio team responsible for the project. In essence, it was a secret wish list of what the game team members would choose if they were awarded the power to pick one for themselves!

We all have a superhero in us, in one way or another, and it's always enjoyable to create and imagine beyond the realms of reality.

The superhero theme isn’t overly saturated in the slot stratosphere, and with a game that packages as many powerful features as Immortal 5 does, the superhero theme was a perfect cloak to drape over the feature-rich mechanic.

Q:Each superhero in Immortal 5 has a distinct personality and power which is portrayed as a game feature. How did you approach creating heroes with such unique traits?

Andy Payne:Our Malm? studio passionately developed our team of heroes.We aimed to establish a strong connection between the characters and their abilities, enabling players to truly experience the effects of each superhero's skills during their individual animations, really bringing them to life.

This involved careful character design and strategic distribution of superpowers, ensuring that the Immortal 5 team had everything they needed to cover all situations. These aspects are showcased through both their design and animation displayed during multiple parts of the game. This ranged from win lines to splash screens and pop-ups, and the screen every player dreams of seeing, the Max Win group selfie of all our characters in their heroic superhero poses.

Q: Is there a particular experience you want for those that play Immortal 5, or like the Money Train franchise, do you want everyone to leave having experienced something different thanks to the unique characters in the game?

Andy Payne:The dream for Immortal 5 is for players to experience something new every time they play the game, similar to what we achieved with the Money Train franchise.

The phrase "packed full of features" is used quite flippantly when it comes to slot games; However, Relax Gaming strongly prides itself on not overhyping something that is not there for the player to see, feel, or experience.

If you were to combine the total number of unique features in Immortal 5, there would be 36 alternative ways that players can experience the Immortal Silver and Gold bonuses; Add to those the Immortal 5 and Immortal re-spin features from the base game it would take some dedication to be able to say you have seen everything the game has to offer.

As Product Owners, we want to create a game that resonates with all demographics of players so that they can all enjoy the features that the game offers and feel the win potential every time they engage with the game.

Q: In your opinion, what sets Immortal 5 apart from other superhero-themed slots on the market?

Gabriel Pisani:We believe several elements can distinguish Immortal 5 from other similar themed games currently available. Each fully expanding superhero appears only on their dedicated reel, making the goal of landing all five superheroes and having them expand together—along with their multipliers—an epic moment when it happens. This creates a dynamic team "selfie" of superheroes.

The unique Pick 'n' Click bonus round offers different experiences each time players enter, and it becomes even more exciting when the Immortal Gold bonus is triggered, adding an extra Power-up pick to the standard options.

When it takes over the screen and starts to deliver expanding multiplier wilds to up to 5 reels and then follows that up with the multiplier reveal, it can generate some truly epic wins out of nowhere and is a very exciting feature to have in the base game.

Gabriel Pisani: I would have to state the obvious here and say the Immortal Gold Bonus and select Mode 1 with the following power-ups – Multiplier Boost, Additional Hero Wilds, and from the Gold Picks, the extra six spins.
