BetBlocker has expanded its services to yet another language with the launch of its Catalan version meant to protect the 4m-odd speakers of the language.
Using the occasion of ICE Barcelona to roll out the newest support service, BetBlocker has been committed to mustering fresh funds and ploughing them back into meaningful and impactful initiatives, and the ability of Catalan players to use a tool in their mother tongue is part of this broader ambition.
BetBlocker specializes in providing users and gamblers with free, anonymous and easy-to-use blocking software that helps people stay in control of their gambling habits. The charity launched three more languages for the African market, with a strong focus on Zambia.
The company has also had a more localized strategy, focusing on Eastern Europeans in the United Kingdom, arguing that some people needed support in their mother tongue to be able to get in control of their gambling habits.
BetBlocker further pushed into Portugal, launching a localized version of the app there as well. As to the latest opportunity to introduce the Catalan version, the company said that it had received cash donations as part of the Charity Partner for ICE London 2024 and immediately sought to use the money to expand its reach, focus, and support.
"After the extremely generous support of Clarion Gaming when they selected us as their Charity Partner in 2024, it seemed only appropriate to invest the funding we received to work in a way that recognised the support we’d been given," said Duncan Garvie, Founder and Trustee for BetBlocker.
