I'd say the healthy approach to casino games is following: You're aware that you pay for playing games and for having fun. I know a few people who regularly travel to Las Vegas, they bring some budget with them and they really don't expect to win. They just want to have fun for the money spent.
I also noticed that even though players are different individually, the general approach also differs per country.
