The Canadian Gaming Summit 2025, due to take place on June 29, will feature a dedicated Player Protection Summit, which will once again focus on the needs of consumers and what the industry can do better to protect players at large.
Held at the Toronto Metro Convention Center, the Canadian Gaming Summit brings together thousands of delegates who seek to explore the untapped potential of the gaming and sports betting markets in Canada at a time of rapid legalization and expansion across the nation.
Commenting on this ambitious part of the upcoming industry get-together, SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark had this to say:
"Protecting players should never be viewed as a compliance box to tick. It’s a complex, developing challenge that spans tech, policy, and empathy. This symposium brings together the people on the frontline of responsible gambling to share the insights that will help us build a truly sustainable gaming industry across Canada."
The Canadian Gaming Summit goes beyond player protection as the discussions it touches upon, but this particular aspect of the event has grown in importance to stakeholders as well as SBC Events in general, who have leaned more heavily on education, prevention, and broaching important topics that concern player safety.
The Player Protection Summit will kick off with Martin Lycka’s Safe Bet Show, which will also feature former NFL player Nick Kypreos before diving into the pre-planned discussions and panels, all seeking to advance understanding of safer and responsible play. The planned sessions include:
Regulation and Responsibility: How the New Politics Affect Player Protection:
Self-Exclusion: A Plus for Protection or a Boost to the Black Market?:
Technology in RG: From Targeted Messaging to AI Support
The Player Protection Symposium will be wrapped up with the It Pays to Be Positive: Changing the Direction of Reinforcement in RG for even more shared and detailed insight into player behavior and how to strengthen consumer protections.
