The premier online gaming company in North America, FanDuel Group, strengthened its C-suite with the appointment of two executives who bring decades of government policy expertise.
The company announced Monday it hired Jonathan Nabavi as Vice President of Federal Affairs.
At the same time, FanDuel confirmed the appointment of Shailagh Murray to the role of Senior Vice President of Public Affairs.
The C-suite appointments come at a time when the company continues to lead by example and plays a major role in the development of regulated betting and gaming across the United States.
FanDuel's important role in the burgeoning market also helps states across the country collect valuable tax revenue, which is subsequently used for vital expenses, including education, community programs and infrastructure projects.
Nabavi has a Juris Doctor from the George Washington School of Law.
On the other hand, Murray has a BA in humanities from University of Missouri-Colombia. She also has a master's in journalism from Northwestern University.
Christian Genetski, FanDuel's President, shared his excitement about the latest key hires, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
"As we look to the future, we understand the important role FanDuel must play in policy discussions that will address how we build and shape the online gaming industry over the long term," the executive said.
Finally, Genetski pointed out: "Shailagh and Jon bring decades of experience navigating difficult policy issues in a thoughtful, collaborative manner. We are confident they are the right leaders to work alongside key stakeholders to grow our industry responsibly and sustainably."
Before joining FanDuel, Nabavi was part of the National Football League (NFL) where he was in charge of its public policy and legislative agenda.
During his time at the NFL, he played a major role in representing the League before the White House and U.S. Congress, among other federal and local government bodies and agencies.
Before his tenure at the NFL, Nabavi held a number of political and congressional roles.
Notably, he served as Majority Counsel for the US Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
Holding that role, Nabavi provided strategic advice and counsel to Chairman Chuck Grassley.
Murray also brings extensive experience to FanDuel.
Before joining the company, she previously served as an Executive Vice President of Public Affairs at Columbia University.
Moreover, Murray accumulated a wide range of skills and knowledge as Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama between 2015 and 2017.
Undoubtedly, both Nabavi and Murray bring solid experience in government policy after decades in the sector and they represent an excellent addition to FanDuel's senior-level team.
