Earlier this year, Starcasino, the leading betting and gaming brand with a presence in a number of important European markets, strengthened its betting offering in the Netherlands via a deal with Altenar, a supplier of innovative sportsbook services.

As part of that recent launch, Starcasino joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), the leading global voice on integrity for the licensed betting industry.

Starcasino joins a growing list of operators and companies that support IBIA

Becoming a member of the Association, Starcasino will help combat match-fixing and manipulation in betting.

Altenar, which agreed to deliver its leading betting solution for Starcasino in the Netherlands, is also a member of IBIA.

In fact, more than 80 companies and 140 betting brands have all joined the Association with a goal of upholding the integrity of sports betting.

IBIA monitors more than $300bn in sports betting transactions annually and as a member, Starcasino will contribute by providing data.

The latest collaboration expands further IBIA's footprint and by now, the Association represents approximately 90% of the licensed and regulated sportsbooks operating in the Netherlands.

IBIA's global monitoring network is designed in a way to help detect potential match-fixing or manipulation attempts in regulated betting markets.

Consequently, the Association collaborates with regulatory bodies to sanction and penalize potential offenders.

According to IBIA's most recent report, highlighting its Q1 activities, a total of 63 suspicious betting alerts were reported for the aforementioned period.

Thanks to such reports, 17 players, officials and clubs were sanctioned in 2024.

Joining IBIA, Starcasino will help protect sports from manipulation

Khalid Ali, IBIA's CEO, revealed that the Association is excited to see Starcasino join its growing member portfolio, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.

"Their addition strengthens our global monitoring network and reinforces our shared commitment to safeguarding the integrity of sports and regulated betting markets," the executive added.

Ali explained that Starcasino's membership with IBIA reaffirms the operator's dedication to upholding the highest standards and transparency for betting integrity.

"We look forward to working closely with Starcasino to protect the integrity of its products and markets," he said in conclusion.

Kylian Olierook, Starcasino Netherlands' Director, was similarly thrilled and explained that the IBIA membership reaffirms the operator's dedication to betting integrity.

"Together with our sportsbook partner Altenar, we want to help protect sports from manipulation and ensure a safe experience for our players," the executive added.

Finally, Olierook pointed out: "By working with the IBIA, we take an active role in monitoring and reporting suspicious betting activity."
