The leading global gaming company, International Game Technology (IGT), announced it extended one of its contracts with a US-based lottery.
Namely, the company confirmed that it signed a new nine-year contract extension with the Tennessee Education Lottery, the lottery operator in the Lone Star state that has raised more than $7.7bn for education programs since it started operating more than two decades ago, in 2004.
Confirmation about the new contract extension came from IGT on Thursday, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
The new nine-year contract will come into effect in June 2027, effectively extending the company's collaboration with the lottery operator through June 2036.
The Tennessee Education Lottery will benefit from a range of systems and solutions, streamlining its operations and improving its capabilities.
Namely, TEL will tap into IGT's high-performing central system called Aurora. The aforementioned system is part of the company's integrated lottery solution, OMNIA.
Besides Aurora, TEL will benefit from IGT's Wizard back-office business applications.
The deal will also see the latter replace existing terminals with recently launched Retailer Pro S2 terminals, offering WinCheck S2 peripherals, among other features.
IGT's user-friendly solutions and applications are going to strengthen the Lottery's reporting capabilities and ensure optimal functionality.
The deal with TEL follows another important partnership announced by IGT only recently.
Late last month, the company agreed to upgrade LOTTO Thüringen's operations in Germany.
At the time, IGT confirmed that one of its subsidiaries linked a new seven-year deal with the Thuringian State Lottery.
Jay Gendron, IGT's Chief Operation Officer, Global Lottery, shared his excitement about the newly extended deal in Tennessee.
He confirmed that the company remains dedicated to delivering exceptional solutions to the Tennessee Lottery.
"Through this nine-year contract extension, we are excited to bring new technological upgrades to the Lottery, providing them the systems and equipment needed to drive performance for its players and the good causes it serves in the state," Gendron added.
Rebecca Paul, Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer, spoke about the prolonged and successful collaboration between the Lottery and IGT, spanning more than two decades.
"One of our core missions is supporting educational programs in Tennessee, and since our inception, we have raised more than $7.5bn for our state," she added.
Finally, Paul said: "We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with IGT, whose advanced technology will assist in responsibly increasing both sales and our contributions to Tennessee education."
Initially, IGT and the Tennessee Lottery joined forces back in 2004, when the lottery operator first launched its services.
