The globally recognizable gaming company, International Game Technology (IGT), announced that its global lottery organization, IGT Lottery, has undergone rebranding and will now be known as Brightstar Lottery.
The change, effective immediately, enables the company to build on its rich legacy of delivering engaging experiences and helping its lottery customers across the globe grow.
Doing business as Brightstar Lottery, the company will continue to supply its innovative, scalable and trusted solutions to lottery operators around the world.
Brightstar Lottery not only powers the retail offering of operators, but it also offers a wide range of digital systems and technology solutions, including games.
Such solutions help lottery operators modernize, enhance and expand their offering in a way that is responsible and sustainable.
The recently announced rebranding comes ahead of the completion of the sale of IGT's Gaming and Digital Business to a holding company owned by funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Voyager Parent, LLC.
The aforementioned sale is expected to be completed as early as July 1, 2025.
With the finalization of the acquisition in question, Brightstar Lottery will be a "premier pure play lottery business designed to elevate lotteries and inspire players," as described in a press release by IGT.
Currently, Brightstar Lottery has a presence on six continents, serving nearly 90 lottery operators.
The company is powering seven of the world's ten largest lotteries and delivers technology to 26 out of 46 lottery jurisdictions in the United States.
Marco Sala, Brightstar's Executive Chair of the Board, shared his excitement.
"Brightstar will be well-positioned to focus on driving innovation and growing the potential of the lottery business responsibly for the entertainment of players, the success of our customers, and the support of the good causes they fund in their communities," he revealed.
Vince Sadusky, Brightstar's CEO, also commented.
He explained: "We have a nearly 50-year history of reliability, innovation, and leadership in lottery, a bedrock from which we are launching Brightstar with a future-forward mindset of helping lottery customers around the world succeed in an environment of digital adoption, shifting player expectations, and an increasing variety of gaming choices."
Only recently, IGT PlaySports announced a new betting technology deal with Boyd Gaming in Nevada.
