The leading gaming company, powering betting, lottery and casino operators across the globe, International Game Technology (IGT), signed a new sports betting technology deal with Boyd Gaming Corporation, a leading American gaming and hospitality company.
Under the terms of the new three-year agreement, the former agreed to supply its leading betting technology, supercharging Boyd Gaming's retail and mobile sports betting operations in Nevada.
The latest alliance builds on an ongoing success the two companies have enjoyed since their first sports technology partnership, which was signed back in 2018.
Thanks to the new deal, Boyd Gaming will continue to leverage IGT's innovative betting technology in Nevada through August 2028, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
Besides using IGT's award-winning IGT PlaySports platform, Boyd Gaming will benefit from IGT's PlaySports Kiosks technology.
This will enable the leading gaming and hospitality operator to continue to provide supreme experiences at its 10 retail betting venues across The Silver State.
Earlier this month, IGT revealed that its games paid out three $1m+ jackpots in May alone.
Fortunate gamblers who played the company's Powerbucks and Wheel of Fortune games were able to scoop hefty jackpots, with the largest being more than $1.8m.
Joe Bertolone, IGT's SVP of Sports Betting, shared his excitement about the latest collaboration with Boyd Gaming.
"IGT PlaySports looks forward to continuing our close partnership with Boyd Gaming in Nevada for three additional years and helping them engage players across channels in the most mature, competitive sports betting market in the U.S.," he revealed.
Bertolone spoke about IGT's ongoing growth in Nevada, highlighting the success of IGT PlaySports.
Finally, the executive said: "The performance, reliability and scalability of our technology stack and self-service betting technologies ensure our customers benefit from the most comprehensive B2B solution in North America."
Bob Scucci, Boyd Gaming's Vice President of Race & Sports Operations, added that the company is delighted to continue its successful collaboration with IGT.
"As the core technology of our sports betting offering in Nevada, IGT PlaySports' platform enables us to evolve Boyd Sports in ways that deliver incremental value to our players and seamlessly scale our offering to address new business opportunities," the executive added.
In addition to Nevada, Boyd Gaming leverages IGT PlaySports technology and powers its retail sportsbooks in Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, as well as Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Kansas, Mississippi and Ohio.
Last year, the EGR North America Awards recognized IGT PlaySports as "Sportsbook Platform Provider of the Year."
