The Illinois Lottery has been publishing a string of feel-good stories about winners grabbing life-changing prizes from various games hosted by the operator. In the latest such announcement, a father and daughter managed to claw a $3,000,000 payday off a single $30 scratch-off ticket.

The pair, who were not identified in the official release, were happy to pose for the photo-op with the outsized check covering their faces, and most of their bodies spoke about how they felt about winning. The daughter explained that the lottery has been a fun way to bond with her father and spend time together.

"Mydadenjoys playing scratch-offs, and I just enjoy spending time with him," the woman told the Illinois Lottery, and she went to flesh out the details about how the win came to be in the first place.

"One day, while I was out getting groceries, I decided to pick up a scratch-off ticket just for fun. I scratched it right there in the store—and when I saw I’d won $3,000,000, I couldn’t believe it. I scanned it at the machine to be sure, and when it confirmed the win, I almost peed my pants," the woman said, revealing that she was the one to actually purchase the ticket and come across this extraordinary spot of good luck.

When she had found out about her win, she ended up hiding the ticket in a "pretty unusual spot," she shared coyly with the lottery, adding that it would remain a secret, and laughing while sharing this particular detail.

Holiday first – planning the future later

As to her immediate plans? The woman sees her win as a team effort since her father was the one to spend time playing scratch-off lottery games with her, and so the victory has been attributed to both of them – the "Dynamic Duo" as they have chosen to be called.

The woman is now heading for a nice vocation and surely enough, her father is coming along. As to the ticket itself, it was sold at Jewel-Osco in Westchester at 2128Mannheim Road.
