A seasoned lottery player nearly fainted after finding out that his $50 instant game ticket turned out to be the winner of a life-changing multi-million-dollar prize.

The Michigan Lottery confirmed the latest win on Monday, revealing that a fortunate Macomb County man scored one of the top prizes from its $6,000,000 Wealth instant game for a sweet $6m payout.

The incredibly lucky lottery player purchased his winning ticket at Najors Liquor & Deli on 43903 Van Dyke Avenue in Sterling Heights.

In a press release, Suzanna Shkreli, the Michigan Lottery's Commissioner, spoke about the growing popularity of $50 instant game tickets.

She revealed that since the Lottery launched tickets with such a price tag in July 2022, they have become a hit among Michigan players.

"Congratulations to the lucky winner who claimed the first $6 million top prize on our newest $50 game – $6,000,000 Wealth," Shkreli explained in conclusion.

The 60-year-old winner, who chose to remain anonymous, recently visited the Michigan Lottery to claim his big win.

While the winner had the option to collect the full sum through annuity payments, he selected to receive a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $4.1m.

Asked about his plans regarding the unexpected windfall, the winner admitted that he will take a vacation and save the rest.

The 60-year-old lucky man admitted that he has been buying scratch off tickets for more than four decades.

The fortunate winner recalled the day he realized he had just won the top prize, saying: "When I scratched the ticket and saw I won $6 million, I thought I was going to faint!"

"I had to scan it on the Lottery app to double check it because I didn’t believe what I was seeing. It still feels surreal," the top prize winner from the $6,000,000 Wealth instant game admitted.

Many prizes remain in play from the $6,000,000 Wealth instant game

Each $50 ticket from the Michigan Lottery's $6,000,000 Wealth instant game grants players a chance to win a prize between $50 and $6m.

After the recent top prize win, now, two prizes of $6m each remain in play.

Besides the top prize, there are 71 prizes of $10,000 each in play, as well as 4,330 prizes of $2,000 each up for grabs.

Within the lower prize tiers, many more prizes are up for grabs. Overall, there is more than $281m remaining in play from the $6,000,000 Wealth instant game.

The odds of winning any prize from the popular scratch-off game are 1 in 3.18.
