The Illinois Lottery has made another exciting announcement, with one lucky soul bagging a $10,000,000 payout from a scratch-off ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at the Stop N Shop located at 2501 North Huffman Boulevard in Rockford, a fairly modest neighborhood, but one that will see its latest lottery millionaire.

Although not many details were offered about the winner itself, the lottery took the account of the shop owner. What is known is that someone won playing the $10,000,000 Bankroll game that the lottery launched in November 2024. The game features three $10,000,000 prizes and 15 $1,000,000 prizes and is a very tempting opportunity for players who love scratch-off lottery.

The player bought the ticket at the family shop, whose owner, Raj Patel, was absolutely thrilled to have seen this purchase through. Patel, who manages Stop N Shop, said that this is the first time the shop has produced a million-dollar winner, and a prize that is as huge as $10,000,000.

Previously, most winners would take home far more modest amounts, such as $100,000, with a few luckier winners scooping up to $900,000. However, this is the very first time the shop has presided over such a significant win, with Patel offering an emotional statement to the Illinois Lottery officials and the general public through a press release.

"We are absolutely thrilled for the winner—this is the kind of moment every lottery retailer dreams of. Ourcustomers are just as excited knowing that life-changing lottery prizes really can be won right here in our local store!"

Patel said that he has proudly owned the store for more than 25 years and that it has cultivated a loyal customer base.

However, despite Patel’s familiarity with his frequent players, he admits that he has not been able to tell who the lucky soul was. He did express hope that they would care to drop by and share the news, all the same!

Illinois has been a state with many and frequent lottery winners – some big, some even bigger. A person recently bought a $20 scratch-off ticket and won $2,000,000 from the Mega Bucks game.

Yet, this is hardly all there is – a life-changing $349,000,000 was won in the state of Illinois from the Mega Millions game. The person stepped forward to claim his prize late last month.
