A woman in Virginia who had won a $5,000 lottery prize last month was recently surprised by a second win, which was life changing.
On Thursday this week, the Virginia Lottery announced that an Exmore woman won $150,000 from its popular game, the Virginia Cash Expander.
Speaking to an official from the Lottery, the fortunate woman admitted that after scoring the life-changing $150,000 win, she immediately drove to her mother's house to give her the good news.
However, her mother initially didn't believe her and thought this was a scam.
Luckily, that wasn't the case, considering that the Virginia Cash Expander game is available via the Virginia Lottery's official mobile app and its website.
As noted, the lucky woman had only recently won $5,000 from the Virginia Lottery last month.
Speaking about her exceptional luck over the last month, the woman said: "It was a good month!"
Moreover, the winner exclaimed: "My cheeks are hurting because I can't stop smiling!"
The fortunate winner did not reveal if she had plans on how to spend her newfound fortune.
Profits of the Virginia Lottery support K-12 education programs across the state.
Northampton County, where the lucky winner lives, has benefited from more than $2.4m from Lottery funding.
The Virginia Lottery's Virginia Cash Expander game grants players a chance to win a range of prizes, including a top prize of $250,000.
Ticket cost per play can vary between $0.50 and $50, while the odds per game are based on the maximum possible tickets played.
The $250,000 top prize is based on the highest possible ticket price, which is $50.
The odds of winning the top prize from the Virginia Cash Expander game are 1 in 2,000,000.
On the other hand, the odds of winning any prize from the popular online instant game are 1 in 4.7.
Besides the Virginia Cash Expander, the Virginia Lottery offers a range of other online instant games, including Mega Millions, Powerball, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5, among others.
To participate in lottery games in Virginia, players need to be 18 years or older and must be located within the state lines.
